Before engaging with 23 Digital, NECA Education faced a number of strategic, technical, and user experience challenges that were limiting their growth and impact online.
1. Outdated Website Experience
The existing website was not reflective of NECA Education’s industry leadership or educational credibility. The design was outdated, cluttered, and difficult to navigate, especially for prospective students and employers looking for clear and immediate information on courses, enrolments, and employer services.
2. Poor Mobile Usability & Site Speed
With a large portion of the target audience accessing the website via mobile devices, the lack of mobile optimisation and slow load times presented a significant barrier. The mobile experience was inconsistent, with broken layouts and long wait times contributing to high bounce rates.
3. Confusing User Journey
There was no clear path for key user types — students, parents, or employers — to find relevant information or take action. CTAs were either buried or inconsistent, and enquiry forms were long and fragmented, making it difficult for users to convert with confidence.
4. Lack of Organic Visibility
Despite offering a range of high-demand courses, NECA Education’s website was underperforming in organic search. Key course pages were not properly indexed or optimised for search engines, resulting in lost traffic and missed opportunities for enrolments across Victoria.
5. Unstructured Digital Marketing Approach
Paid media efforts were sporadic and lacked a clear strategy. Campaigns were not segmented by audience type or intent, and conversion tracking was either missing or unreliable, making it difficult to optimise for performance or justify ad spend.
6. Limited Employer Engagement Tools
Employers, who are a vital audience segment for NECA Education, found it difficult to navigate the site or find relevant employer-focused services. There were no streamlined forms, employer onboarding tools, or dedicated areas for partnerships or apprenticeship placement.
